Challenges Facing Curriculum Implementation of Basic School Education in Nigeria and the Way Forward

The Nigerian Basic school education is facing many problems and one of the major problems is poor implementation of school Curriculum. This paper intends to discuss the problems facing the implementation of Basic school education Curriculum in Nigeria. The paper presentation employed the used of primary and secondary data to support the various points raised in the paper. The secondary data ere soured from the online and print resources. This paper identified; inadequate funding, shortage of professional teachers, inadequate infrastructural facilities, shortage of instructional materials, poor supervision, insecurity and corruption. To address, these problems, the government should increase the funding of basic education, employ more professional teachers, provide more infrastructural facilities, provide more adequate instructional materials, improve the supervision of basic education, ensure adequate security in all basic schools and stop all forms of corruption in the administration of basic school education.
